21 year old Matthew Lane Durham a former missionary has been sentenced by an Oklahoma Federal Judge to 40 years in prison for sexual abuse directed at children at a Kenyan Orphanage. Durham was accused of sexually molesting children at the Upendo Children's Orphanage at Nairobi , Kenya while posted there to serve between April and June of 2014.
Despite the sentence carried out on the young convict, he showed no emotions, neither did he show any remorseful feelings when the sentence was read to him on the 7th of March 2016.
Committing sexual crimes in foreign lands is a serious crime and this attracted a four count charge ,which was initially a 7 count charge but reduced in January of 2016. A restitution has been demanded of Durham of the sum $15,863 by the Oklahoma judge.
