Why would you rather see two men holding guns than holding hands? It's not a question from me to you but by a renowned Novelist; Ernest J Gaines who wondered why society and human culture, would rather see two men holding guns than hands. Let's look at a practical example of the life of Leonard P Maltovich who said;
"When I was in the military they gave me a medal for killing two men and a discharge for loving one "Lets take a deeper insight , and search for answers. Man cannot understand anything without conscience just like computers have no choice but to act by instructions of 0's and 1's which was created by mathematicians and utilized by programmers to classify, organize and create order in the cyber world. We know that to act, progress or choose cannot be made without a positive and a negative, a yes or a no, which mystics would refer to as the ying and yang.
Man's consciousness takes the responsibility of interpretation just like 0's and 1's to computers . Our consciousness doesn't make a choice for us, or decide our pick. It just tells us which is a 0 and which is a 1 and whatever choice we make, is the act of freewill and our own interpretation of what our conscience has described to us .This choices we make is deeply influenced by religion, culture and society.
As the world has progressed , Religion society and culture decided to give man's consciousness series of labels , thereby classifying our consciousness into good and bad, yes and no, right and wrong, positive and negative, everything having an opposite of itself. Without this classification, man would not be able to govern himself without disorder, errors, and chaos. There is a need for order.
Just like the controversial Marijuana , not everything that falls into a bad category as defined by society would want to remain in that negative category , but it just has to be classified because some sort of order is needed. There would always be the argument of where to place it. Some would say it's right, others would say it's wrong.
Religion has its own mode of classification and it slightly differs from society. Some of their laws are similar to society's and agree while others conflict due to the need for classification. For example "thou shalt not kill", is agreeable by both society and religion but the consequence of killing is stern with societal law unlike certain religions ( christian religion) which preaches the need to forgive for sins even murder.
Just like religious laws differs with various religions, societal laws differ with geographical areas. Just like Marijuana is accepted in some countries, other countries would execute whoever possess it in their country. Just like major parts of American society is beginning to embrace the LGBT community, Russia and Africa are open and sworn enemies of the LGBT community. So as the issue of racism, where nature grouped man into several color shades but man interpreted this classification into supremacy of some race over others as exibited by Adolf Hitler as the originator of the Aryan Supremacy struggle . Whether we would accept this or not, terrorism is a brutal and bastard off shoot of islam and majority would always look at terrorism as an origin from islam. So therefore is Religion as opposed to Magic. There would always be the need for organization in positives and negatives.
Just recently, famous boxer Manny Pacquiao described Gays as animals, further stating that even animals are better off because they abide by nature's law. Manny was speaking based on the interpretation of his consciousness and the classification of Gays from his conservative christian faith , which he must have compared with nature's own classification thereby making his own choice. So he decided Homosexuality is negattive, based on his own religious interpretation, his conscience only showed him the differences.
Even within the LGBT community there is also the need for classification and to distinguish their various sexual orientations. The lesbians, Gay Men, bisexuals, and Transgenders.
Now this is the clincher. If homosexuality was so bad and a taboo, why is man willing to accept lesbians than Gays? Aren't they supposed to both the part of thesame negative classification by religion and society? This is because man makes the choice. Nothing can be viewed as an actual good or an actual bad. It's the need for order and meaning that man needs to abide by societal and religious classifications just to give meaning to his existence.
On Issue Of Acceptance Of Lesbians As Opposed To Gay Men:
Society has involuntarily classified the LGBT community, looking at lesbianism as a more accepted positive and Gay Men as the unacceptable negative. So Gay men are looked down on and more prone to societal critics.
Society Views Lesbians as;
• More Sexy compared to gay men
• They are used to seeing women much more friendly and full of affection for themselves
• Imagination of the sexual act between men by society is far less sexually attractive than lesbians
• Heterosexual men love lesbians despite their orientation
• Men's Physiology is less sexual than women
The conscience interprets, man makes a choice, and society and religion influences the choice.
Man abides by societal and religious rules because they have been most powerful for millenniums. This is because society keeps man sane on why he should exist, and religion has believable stories on mans supposed origin. It is only science that prefers to remain neutral, backing every findings with facts and proof and rather keep discovering why man exists and how he can make his stay on earth worthwhile, while our unexplainable life lasts.
