•The Danish Girl
This one is a work of art and based on true events about the first ever trans-sexual to exist in the history of humanity. Her name was Einer Wegener who later became Lili Elbe and this was said to have occurred between the 1920's and 30's precisely when medicine and surgery was still at its crude stage.
Imagine how shocking this would have been to society at that time, and the extreme backlash that this must have caused Lili more or less the consequence of her actions, to the mostly conservative population. An eye opening movie which brought to light the director Tom Hooper, who was nominated for best director, Golden Lion.
