After an ongoing debate by Senator Dino Melaye over the Made In Nigeria Bill plenary session , the Senator was said to have criticized Nigerians for being lovers of foreign products, rather than products made in their own country. The Senator also sited a distinct example using the current Edo State Governor Adams Oshimole for getting married to a foreign Cape Verde woman rather than make a choice from the vast pool of Nigerian women available.

The Edo State Governor didn't turn a blind eye to this statement by the Senator. Adams Oshimole demanded straight up apology for his statements and described the senator as a lunatic. No apologies were offered rather Senator Dino Melaye continued with his critisims and accusations and insisted that the reply by Adams Oshimole was Infact cooked up by Sahara Reporters, an American based online news media , at which he senator is always at loggerheads with for publishing stories about him.
