A teenager Amy Wilson 18 who was taken hostage by her boyfriend Joshua Knight, threatening her life, posted her images on facebook indicating her situation. This prompted her facebook friends to alert the police authorities. She said she was just too scared to alert the police herself just incase her boyfriend over heard the conversation, so she posted the disturbing images with her tearful face via facebook.
"I'm in a legit hostage situation" and "This is an actual emergency".On realizing her situation, her friends on facebook chat quickly went into action. What's most surprising is that Knight her boyfriend has no criminal record attached to his name and is about starting up his college education.
Amy who currently is an apprentice at Hebburn, South Tyneside said her boyfriend threatened her with a BB gun, saying:
'I don't want to hurt you, but I'm going to hurt you' before pointing a BB gun, which she believed was real, at her.She very much believed that the gun was real. The Newcastle-upon-Tyne convicted Knight for possession of a BB with the intention cause fear, harm and violence. Amy who further gave account of what happened said:
"I was absolutely terrified, I thought he was going to kill me. "He just told me to get in the bathroom because he was getting agitated and saying he was going to hurt me. "When he was banging on the door it was so scary. I even thought about trying to get out of the window but it was too high.
"I told my three closest friends what was happening on Facebook chat."I was scared to ring the police in case Josh heard and tried to smash his way into the bathroom."I was crying and my fingers were shaking so much that I couldn't type and my messages weren't making any sense.
