Based on fears that her sexual lifestyle could be revealed about having sex with a minor, Chamari Liyanage a Sri Lankan Doctor, allegedly ended her husband's life with a 1.79kg hammer right in their bedroom, on their bed after allegedly concluding a threesome, with a 17 year old girl.
Her husband Dinendra Athukorala's body was lying on a mattress with blood splattered all over the scene, while she lay beside the body curled up, and looking sober.
According to a police man who was first to arrive at the scene , he saw the alleged murder weapon and asked her to give account of what happened;
“I asked if she knew what had happened, a sobbing Liyanage said she did not know and could not remember and that the hummer belonged to her husband".She narrated to the Supreme Court Jury Of Western Australia, about her husband's physical abuses and also how he coerced her into engaging in unlawful sexual escapades, controlled her and watched her every move. According to UK Mirror, her lawyer George Giudice also added that she was:
Sleep-deprived, anxious, trapped and battered woman, that she was made to model for her husband in front of a camera, sometimes for hours on end.She was also fed up of being coerced her into threesome with other women, including a 17-year old girl with whom the Sri Lankan couple were having an affair. It got to a stage that she was no longer prepared to put up with his behaviour, he added"
Liyanage has pleaded Not Guilty to the charges and the trial is set in 3 weeks
