Outlawed Celebratory Gunfire Kills Groom On His Wedding Day In India

With the euphoria that comes from wedding unions, people are not usually aware of themselves. They get high, sing, dance with much energy like it's the first day into the best days of their lives. Such wasn't the case in India, New Delhi which ended humorously tragic when the celebrating groom himself was hit by a stray bullet that evolved from one of the guns fired by a member of the celebratory firing group.

According to the Indian local police in charge of the case, 28 year old Amit Rastogi was shot at Uttah Pradesh State in the process of leading his party to the house of the bride as demanded by the Indian marriage custom. He got a bullet in the head, believed to be fired by one of the members in charge of the merriment of celebratory firings.

Such deaths are not unusual in India although firing during celebrations are banned in India, it's still very common among south eastern Asia countries.  There are documented cases of deaths as a result of celebratory firings;

• A ruling party worker decided to grace their political party ceremony with some loud bang to celebrate their recent victory when a boy 8 , was accidentally struck and killed  by the bullet. This occurred in the month of February

• A 14 year old boy also suffered the same fate when he was also hit and killed by a bullet at Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh at a similar wedding ceremony.
