In Barlad Romania, A lady named Elena Smocot was alleged to have ended the life of her new born son due to the close resemblance of the child to her lover. Elena is married with two children, and lives together with her 7 year old nephew. Suspecting infidelity on her part by seeing a striking resemblance in her baby with her lover, she struck the child by flinging the baby by the toe, and striking the head hard on the furniture till the baby ceased crying.
She continued amassing the baby with several blows using her feet until the noise was heard by her son and nephew who quickly alerted neighbors. By the time neighbors could intervene Smocot had already seperated the baby by half using broken fragments from roofing materials.
She was immediately arrested and charged for the murder of her child. Smocot told police that disecting a child is so much harder than a chicken and she had to use twice as much force to remove her son's intestines than she would of a chicken.
Psychiatric records presented in court had shown that Smocot had a history of severe post natal depression which was prominent in 2010 and 2012. The court didn't budge for this, claiming that Smocot was self aware of her actions and thereby charged her for the death of her son.
She was promptly sentenced to 18 years in prison.
