Avoid Talking About Your Ex

Don't talk about past relationships. This is a very vital rule that must be strictly adhered to when going out on a date. This could create a dull ,very negative and uncomfortable atmosphere. Even if talking about your date is totally unavoidable, only focus on the positive aspects of the relationship and make it as brief as possible.

Drink But Don't Get Drunk

If you must drink, drink but avoid getting too tipsy. Drink just enough for you to be able to get back home. Don't embrace yourself or risk fending off your date as a result of the short term effects of drinking. Remember that you are trying to create a positive and lasting impression. Don't ruin your date with Alchohol

Plan And Prepare Your Conversation

Don't just go on a date without proper planning  on how best the date should be . Also prepare your conversations if you're not a good speaker  . You don't want to be short of words and risk boring the core out of your date in the process. Plan diligently on key but basic issue you should talk about.

Speak The Truth At All Times

Don't go about lying about yourself or making up unrealistic stories. Be truthful and sincere, open up. If your date likes the lies you've presented to them, there would be problems in the relationship, if you paint an unrealistic picture about yourself. Be yourself and be real.

Mind Your Manners

It's important you stick to proper manners don't be too flirtatious or touchy. You can touch once or twice but don't be too intimate except your date is comfortable with that. It's better to be on the safe side of the fence , by sticking to the rules while on a date to avoid scaring off them off.

Don't Expect Sex

Avoid sexual expectations and thoughts,  or you would be utterly disappointed especially men who just want to get it on as soon as possible. Avoiding sex on a date is a mark or good morals and a responsible behavior. You might just be opportune to have that kiss but not sex.

Never Be Too Revealing

Avoid talking too much about yourself. Stick to the basics. Keep important information about yourself under the table and talk on a more platonic and introductory level, until you know your date up close and personal.

Don't Check Out Other People While On A Date

Be focused on your date. Checking out other tables while on a date signals lack of interest in your date. This could even make your date leave and never return. Have courtesy and concentrate on your date soley, thoughout the duration.

Ensure That You Are Not Dating A Married Person

Ensure you know the history of your date, make sure they are not currently married or that could pose a problem in the future or even right at that moment you are having a nice time. You don't want to be embarrassed  by your date's  irresponsibility. You deserve better. Move on and don't look back if your date is married.

Be punctual

Don't be late. Stick to time, and don't keep your date waiting on you. It's a rude and irresponsible way to start a date but if you are late , apologize and give reasonable reasons.
