George Clooney's Proposal To Wife Amal And The Story Behind It All

George Clooney was  a guest at the Ellen Degeneres show at which Rihanna was also a guest, on promotion of his new movie "Hail Caesar" where he shed light on pressing human right matters around the world but also about his relationship with his wife Amal who coincidentally is a human rights lawyer. He made it known that during his proposal to her, he had to bend down on one knee for almost 30 minutes awaiting the much needed answer. YES!

His story became really hilarious because Amal never knew this was a proposal. Clooney confessed to his instant connection to Amal on his first impression of her. They couple eventually got married on September 2014

He shared his story:

I think about six months 'til I actually thought I might pop the question. And it was one of those horrible moments, we didn't talk about it, you know, it wasn't, "maybe we should get married" or anything. I plotted the whole thing out.  'Had the ring hidden behind her, I had music playing, my aunt Rosemary's going to sing Why Shouldn't I?, everything was planned out,'


 'And I go, "Nah, I made dinner!" You know, I've got it all set up, timed out and the song is coming, she gets up to go wash the dishes, which she's never done, and I'm like, "What are you doing?"

'She reaches around and pulls out the box, and I've got just the ring sitting in there, and she pulls it out and she looks at it and she's like, "It's a ring."

'Like somebody had left it there some other time! And I'm like, doing all the moves you can do with my face'

'And I got down on my knee and I said, "I couldn't imagine spending the rest of my life without you," and she kept looking at the ring, and she's looking at me, and she's like "Oh my God"

'And we now know because there is a playlist, so we know how long it actually took, and it's like 25 minutes, 25 minutes!

'And finally like literally I said "Look, I hope the answer's yes, but I need an answer 'cause I'm 52 and I could throw out my hip pretty soon!" and then she said, "Oh, oh yes!" So it worked out really well.'
