Late Marriage among women have become a pressing and prominent marital issue worldwide. In the Nigerian society, which is a conservative society where ones marital status is never overlooked, women are pressured psychologically into Marriage without them having a choice. Due to biological reasons, a woman needs to get married quiet early in life so as to acquire children before her biological clock ticks away to menopause.
Despite this, quiet a lot of women still feel they need to make the right choice of partner before they can decide to settle down and have a family. Quiet a lot of women also have certain combination of choices that are quiet unrealistic as to what kind of man they would like to settle down with. Such choices and attititude towards choosing a partner would drag on for years until marriage suitors becomes less and her marriage value depreciates because younger and marriage ready ladies would settle down just for about any reasonable man swiftly.
How Have Such Women Contributed To Their Late Marriage?
1. Choice Of Race
Women still make choices about race or skin tone of men they would like to settle down with. People are subconsciously inclined to marry people of their own race as a first choice before deciding to opt for another race as a second choice for a life partner.
In Africa, some dark skinned ladies wouldn't really mind having white men or rather light toned men as a first choice ,for a life partner before opting for men of their race or dark skinned men. This is because they want their children looking more beautiful and oriental or their men to look unique just to show off to society. While some would just rather stick to men of their race.
Women naturally aim for men with the best physical features. "My man must be tall, dark and handsome" is the mantra for young ladies who haven't yet matured in the marriage market. The older women who ones had such a mantra and still searching for a husbands, don't mind changing theirs to "any reasonable man would suffice for me". Ladies looking to get married are adviced to make reasonable choices. Men who look good with impeccable physical features are competitive and the probability he would pick you is just less compared to the number of women flocking around him.
Women who feel that going into a marriage with a man who has a perfect financial status might end up really disappointed in the end. Some women are not ready to settle for less or manage what the man has to offer while they both try to upgrade the finances together, especially if such a man is presently jobless. Women who suffer late marriage feel that a man should be the sole provider of all the marriage finances, and they are not ready to struggle in any marriage.
4. Women Who Cant Ask A Man Out
It's quiet on the natural side of life for any woman not to want to ask a man out but rather show him signs that she is very much interested in him for a date or for marriage. Some of this signs might just go unnoticed as weeks could jump into months, into years without him saying a word to them about dating or marriage. She must pull out the courage to say what she feels in other not to loose her man of choice.
5. Household Chores Are Not Solely For Women
Women with such a mentality tend to be fished out easily by men who want their hands in marriage. Women who believe that men should also share in the chores are usually avoided by most men. Such men believe that women with such a mind set are enemies of the kitchen and also of cooking. They also believe that such women are lazy and tend to avoid such women for marriage in the end.
6. Size Of Genitals
Women also have choices when it comes to the choice of their man's genitals. Of course generally a woman would be inclined to marry a man who has an average to large genitals over a small or really tiny genitals so as to enjoy sex throughout her marriage life as it is believed that larger genitals are much more satisfying. Such a belief would cripple her early marriage if she keeps on having genital preferences.
Men would practically avoid rich ladies who might end up insulting their egos talk more of the no nonsense women who are also rich. Men have pride and to spill their, especially when it comes from a woman, due to marital reasons, is not worth the money you have to offer. They rather settle down with women they can be at peace with or at most control. Rich well to do working class ladies are also generally believed to be no-nonsense ladies who would always remind her man that she is the breadwinner who puts food on the table in their home
