Being Gay; Totally Wrong Or Absolutely Right?

No matter who we are, when making basic decisions in life our conscience guides us and automatically suggests what's good or evil, what's right or wrong . The religious fanatic, the atheist or people who just exist for the sake of it, no man can claim ignorance of right or wrong except born in total isolation.

Being gay is a struggle, constantly battle of oneself, society and moral judgment. To be gay is not an art form, a habit or something that is studied. You just feel that unexplainable emotional attraction is possible between you and a person of the same sex. From their own perspective it's quiet normal, usual,  and possible. From societal and religious perspective only God decides who and what should be attracted to who.

Homosexuality is a social and sexual mystery and in as much as physiologist and sociologist try to study what level of human reasoning would make an individual prefer people of thesame sex than they usual, they would never truly be understood. You can either accept it, condemn it or be as indifferent by pusing yourself away from societal controversies of the LGBT community. More questions and research about Gays and Lesbians would only lead to even deeper questions.

If one must accept the basic definition about who a gay individual is, where do you classify someone who is heterosexual with homosexual tendencies ? Or someone who is married and has gay fantasies?
What about convicted prisoner at which the sexual psychology suddenly becomes reversed from being straight to being gay?

Another part of the problem is that a lot of people have extreme prejudicial attitude about the LGBT community.  Such phobia and hate towards them would only lead to more complexities, and would make them give even lesser information about their sexuality so as to be understood more and control the incessant spread of homophobia and the discriminatory violence attached to it.

The total number of people who are Gays and lesbians cannot even be estimated. Social scientists believe that it is more than the usual estimate . Some would never  declare their sexuality for fear being lynched by society or condemned by family members. Other would rather live that life in secret and constant vigilance and extreme carefulness.

Most gay men and women trace back their homosexual attitude back to their childhood. Most Gays already knew who they were even before they understood that sex even existed. They initially struggle to deny this orientation as a forceful acceptance of societal rules of morals as they feared the shame and consequences. They tried to Blend in with friends, even have sexual relationships with the opposite sex , feel normal like everyone around them do, causing them to believe that this feeling is something that can readily be changed. For how long? The feeling does always come back, and takes over them , even more powerful than before , provoking extreme guilt and depression for weeks, months and even years.

The West is really the only part of the world willing to give the LGBT community the opportunity to fight for their right of sexual orientation. The rest of the world have taken several steps back with violence, discrimination, and prejudice. Herzegovina, Kosovo, Albania, Russia, Serbia , Islamic nations and most African countries; South Africa excluded are currently extremely unhabitable for the LGBT community or any person who is outspoken about the right sexual orientational freedom.

Mahmoud Asgari and Ayaz Marhoni on July 19 2005, were executed in Iran by hanging ,are just one of huge thousand cases at which Gays have been targeted for their orientation and it dates back to history since the time of Constantine, a period at which Gays were even  burned alive.

According to 76crimes.com, despite America's supposed tolerance towards Gays, there were:

6,000 hate crimes committed in 2013, 20 percent (approximately 1,200) were based on victims’ sexual orientation, according to the FBI.
In Brazil, 1,341 LGBT people were reported murdered from 2007 through 2012.
In Peru, a reported 249 LGBT people were murdered from 2006 to 2010

These figures are bothersome. Gays didn't start wars, they didn't start earthquakes or tsunamis, or invent diseases nor encourage the use of drugs or abortion. Individuals feel good about themselves or think they have cleared some aspects of their daily sin when they judge, or discriminate people that have been tagged as socially unfit to walk the streets.

A typical example of such other phenomenon is the brutal beating or killing of a thief by burning committed by the public usually practiced wildly in Africa, popularly known as "Jungle Justice". Who's to decide who lives and who dies? Some crimes are accepted while some are not. Those who cast these first stones rather than drop their stones of guilt, have totally ignored the words of religious prophets about casting the first stone. Why violently take away the speck from their eyes when everyone's got their own speck to deal with?

There would always be more questions than answers, but the true words here is that every human being has rights to make their own choices and exist in so far as the choices they make doesn't spill unto their neighbors.
