Im Aware Of Seven Gay Footballers Playing In The English League - John Fashanu's Daughter

In an extremely masculine sports like football, rugby, wrestling and American football, it's very difficult for gay sports men such field of contact sports to declare their sexual orientation openly. 

Amal Fashanu, Daughter to the Ex Aston Villa and Wimbledon striker John Fashanu  made it known publicly that she is aware of 7 English Premier League players who cannot declare their gay sexual orientation publicly for fear of destroying their careers , due to criticism against the LGBT community, which is still very prevalent. 

It should interest you to know that John Fashanu's brother Jamal Fashanu committed suicide in the year 1998 after disclosing his sexual orientation , due to the segregation that still exists among Gays in the sporting world. 

Amal told BBC Radio 5 in anLive interview: 

'I actually know myself of seven. I will never, ever share their details. 'I’m not going to out them because I would never do that. You want to be honest, even to help them out, but you just can’t do that. The football world is extremely dark. I don’t even want to imagine being a footballer, what it must be like.'
