Death Row Inmate In Vietnam Avoids Execution By Self Impregnation With £1600 Worth Sperm

In Vietnam, the law exclusively prevents execution of women who are pregnant or nursing mothers with children aged 3 and below.  This law was used against the Vietnam penal code by Nguyen Thi Hue, who allegedly paid a 27 year old male prisoner for his sperm so as to impregnate herself and escape the strong arms of Death Row.

She was alleged  to have paid the sum of 50 million Vietnamese Dong about £ 1600 in equivalent,  just to obtain a fertile semen to help her conceive and escape her predicament.

As the local newspaper Thanh Nien News reports;

Nguyen Thi Hue was sentenced to death for drug trafficking after she was arrested at Quang Ninh in 2012. All her efforts to appeal was revoked so she capitalized on one last desperate measure  to remain available on earth. Her sentence would thereby be comuted to life imprisonment.

According to the Huffington Post,
Investigators discovered that Hue paid a 27-year-old male inmate more than $2,000 in August 2015 for his semen and syringes, which they say she used to inseminate herself. The baby is due in April, and Hue's sentence will officially be reduced to life imprisonment after the birth.
Also, 4 prison officers due to their alleged lack of  effectiveness of duty, have been suspended from their various posts.
